It's time to listen!
Hello again!
This is our third month working with this blog, so we are going to start the listening
First of all, congratulations for the reading activities you did last month. You did very well! And as you know, when you do well you have a prize!!!! This time it will be a song! You will find the link of the video to listen to it. Enjoy it! :)
And now it is time to work!
There are some links with activities to do. Pay attention to the instructions I give you before doing the activity.
Links
- Do this activity online. How much is this?
- Do this activity online. Sports maze
- Write on your notebook the questions that appear on the video. Then ask them and post it on the blog. John talks about school
- Listen to the video carefully. Write on your notebook what is Dylan going to take with him to go camping. Post your answers here. What's your news? Camping
Reading short stories
Congratulations for your letters and stories! We had a lot of them during this first month. They are really good. Thank you for your participation!
But now it’s time to improve a little bit our reading skill.
In the links below you can find some exercises and stories to read and listen to. Write on your notebooks all the words you don’t understand. If you don’t know the meaning from the context, look the new words up to the dictionary.
But you can also find a prize! As your stories and descriptions were so good, you will find tongue twisters! Try to read them quickly! It’s so funny!
ATTENTION!! You are going to read one of these texts in front of your classmates. So pay attention to the pronounciation and meaning. The teacher or your classmates can ask you questions about new words or about the text in general.
If you find a story in English, you can post it here to share it with your friends.
Are you ready for that? Good luck and work hard!

A Christmas present!
Hello again!
After your original stories and we know Christmas is coming, I think it’s important to know how to write a letter to a friend, an informal letter. You have to take into account 5 different parts:
1. Heading. At the top right side you should write your address and the date.
2. Greeting. It starts with the word “dear” and using the name of the person or relationship. It ends with a comma. For example, Dear John, or Dear Uncle,
3. Body. It’s the information you write.
4. Closing. A short expression followed by a comma. For example, Your friend,
5. Signature. This is your name and it goes under the closing.
Here you have an example of an informal letter:
256 Country Lane

Dear Bob,
How are you? The last time we talked was two months ago! Have you gone to ski this year? I went to ski last weekend and it was so good! My family and I enjoyed a lot. The weather was sunny and cold and the place was almost empty. We spend the day skiing and in the evening we came back home by car. But we found a lost horse on the road so we called the police. They came and took the horse. It was black and so big! I think I want to learn to ride a horse. I will ride one tomorrow because one of my friends has one. Do you like horses? Which is your favourite animal?
I am looking forward to receive your letter back.
Your friend,
Susan
Can you write a letter to your friend? You can talk about your Christmas' holidays, your summer holidays, your dreams, your pet...

Can you tell me a story?
Hello my friends,
You know we are going to work the different skills: writing, listening, speaking and reading during this course. To start with, I am going to hang out some writing tips to improve your stories or informal letters (the ones you send to your friends).
As you will see in the following webs, you should think about some questions:
- Where does the story happen? In a castle, in the forest…
- When does this happen? 2 years ago, now, in the year 3015…
- Who appears in the story? Mary and her dad, Bob, a dog and a rabbit, an alien…
- What do you want to explain? Holidays, an adventure, a football game…
- Think of an ending: Mary gets married in a castle and go on holidays to the beach…
You should start your story with sentences like:
Once upon a time…
In the year 3015…
I was sleeping when the phone rang and it was my mother…
I am going to write a story so you can see how it works. Then you will find more links with activities to create your own story.
Once upon a time there was a girl living in the forest. She was ten years old and her name was Susan. Her favourite animal was a horse. She was riding her horse when she found a nice stone. It was like a heart and there was something written: “To Robert. You and me forever.” She thought it was a love story. She started to ask to her friends for a boy called Robert, but nobody knew him. One day her mum saw the stone and she was surprised. Her first boyfriend was called Robert and he gave her this stone. She lost it 15 years ago. Susan’s mum explained Susan the story and decided to keep the stone. It was a nice love story and Susan wished to find her own prince and have her own stone.
Now it’s your turn! Create your own story. You can talk about: your last Christmas holidays, Santa Claus, the last film you have watched, an alien arriving to the earth... Use your imagination and share your story with the rest of your classmates. You can look at the links below this post and then create your personal story. Write about 8-10 lines and post it here so we can read it too.
Let your imagination fly!!
